Now has an impressive range of bottled Belgian beer, and one guest Belgian beer on draught.

For the record: No smoking before 9.00 at one end; though as there's no serious partition this doesn't count for all that much.

And there hasn't been any 'noisy folk singers' -- or music of any kind -- since November 2005, for which you can blame/thank the provisions of the Licensing Act 2003.

For us dark beer fans, one pump is dedicated to having a stout, porter or mild.

Despite the departure of the chef about 6 months ago, the food is still good.

Simon the chef has left the Live recently, to work at The Pembury Tavern. He used to be at the Kingston Arms back when it had properly good food. Not sure what this will do to the Live's food - the hunt for a chef is in full swing.

A good pub, but occasionally blighted by noisy folk singers.

Mmm. Pie.

Oh, and great beer too. Can always be relied upon for a fine pint of Nethergate Umbel.

Can get a bit smokey, as the ceilings are pretty low.

This is the CAMRA Pub of the Year 2006 for Cambridgeshire. Well worth a visit - great beer and really good pub food.
